Digital Learning

DIGITAL LEARNING

& EDTECH

From educational videos, learning apps and serious games to coding lessons and virtual and augmented reality: New technologies have already had a huge impact on learning. They enable time- and location-independent learning, facilitate individual and networked learning, and improve quality in the educational system as a whole. Not only do they shape how and what we teach and learn, they also make education more accessible for everyone, regardless of age and background. New technologies are changing our schools, universities and vocational colleges, and increasing the possibilities for informal learning and on-the-job training in workplaces. As current innovations such as artificial intelligence, robotics and blockchain are dramatically transforming many facets of our lives today, it is exciting to imagine the new opportunities such technologies will have on the world of learning in the future.

Digital Mobility

DIGITAL MOBILITY

Digital mobility is not only about creating a personalized digital passenger experience with location-based services, digital self-services as ticketing, self-check-in, personalized travel information, indoor-navigation and onboard entertainment. It is also about digital innovations optimizing the operation of public transport, e.g. improving maintenance of the fleet by predictive maintenance, optimizing the passenger flow in stations, smart luggage management or providing the best suitable multimodal connection.

Digital mobility makes travel more comfortable, more sustainable and more customer-friendly whilst reducing cost of ownership for the operator of public transportation systems.

Digital Supply Chain

DIGITAL SUPPLY CHAIN

Companies leading the way in the digital economy need to offer highly personalized products and services. Innovation in Digital Supply Chain changes fundamentally the way products and services are delivered and tailored to unique customer requirements. Keeping up with the digital economy therefore means reimagining business processes across the whole Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Asset Management. Innovative solutions in these fields help customers to establish Intelligent Enterprises.

FAQ
See FAQs
  1. What should your pitchdeck look like?

The pitch deck that you upload for your application, should include all information you want to share with the jury to convince them that you should be selected as one of the finalists. If you are selected as one of the finalists you can of course use a different pitchdeck for your live pitch on stage.

  1. Can I apply for more than one category?

You are welcome to apply for more than one category. However we will choose nine finalists. This means you can only pitch for one category.

  1. Does the application or participation cost something?

The application and participation for Innovators’ Pitch competition is completely free. All finalists will get free tickets for the conference hub.berlin, where the Innovators’ Pitch takes place. Independently of the Innovators’ Pitch you can also apply as a startup for free tickets for hub.berlin here.

  1. How does the selection of the finalists and the winner work?

Each category will have an expert jury that will select the winners at the Innovators’ Pitch on April 10th at hub.berlin. The jury will also choose the finalists, who will be invited to pitch at hub.berlin. For that reason we will share your information and your pitchdeck with the members of the jury – but of course the jury and we will keep your application confidential. Here you can find our privacy statement.

  1. What time, place etc.?

The pitch will take place at 4.30pm to 6pm (time may change) on 10th of April at hub.berlin 2019. Three selected finalists will pitch in each of the three categories. Every startup gets a 3 min pitch and 3min Q&A by the jury. In the end the winners will be awarded.

  1. Who can apply?

All startup companies that were founded no more than 5 years ago (as per: 10. April 2019), that do not have more than 50 permanent employees, that are organized under private-law and that are not partly owned by the state or are a subdivision of it are eligible to take part. Please check the Terms of Participation for more details.

  1. What can you win?

The winners of the Innovators’ Pitch get 5.000 euros per category as prize money, a free one-year Get Started membership of Bitkom for companies fulfilling the requirements for a Bitkom Get Started membership (see our conditions) and an invitation to exclusively pitch themselves to our competition partner investors. Finalists from previous years were furthermore not only pleased with the media attention after the pitch, they also succeeded in obtaining concrete financing.
